P-C Industries, Inc. began in 1997 when Phil Hetrick, owner of Byerly Tire and Appliance, while struggling to seat the bead of a tire that had been chunked in preparation for foaming wished for a better way to chunk. He was introduced to Chuck Shaffer, a project manager in charge of aftermarket components for the plastics extruder industry, by a mutual friend. During discussions about criteria for a solution to Phil’s chunking problems, he held up an air valve and said, “I’d really like to be able to chunk through this.” Within several weeks Chuck came up with the basic concept that is now the AutoFill Recycler system.

The next four and a half years were spent developing a working prototype. In 2001 the system was sufficiently developed, and we were ready to bring the first units to market for trials. We were able to find help at this time in Ben Franklin Technology Partners and Solideal Industrial Tire who purchased our first eight machines.

From these humble beginnings P-C Industries, Inc. has grown. We now have 80 AutoFill Recycler systems in place all over the world. In 2004 we became an exporter delivering units to Canada and Germany. We formed a relationship with Roesler Gruppe who is our distributor for the EU. We developed the TRIOFILL system which uses pre-ground and blended recycled components.

We’re growing physically, and have currently grown out of our rented accommodations. We have purchased a 6000 sq. ft. building on three acres of land just outside Brookville, PA. Our vision is to continue to develop products that will make life easier for those in the flat-proofing industry.
